Continuing the journey
As we look toward 2026 and reach the midpoint of our 2023–2027 strategy, the Trafigura Foundation enters a pivotal moment of continuity and renewal – a time to take stock, strengthen what works, and recognise both how far we have come and how much remains to be done.
Our work continues to focus on the three interconnected areas highlighted across this site, guided by one principle: backing local organisations or solutions. Nearly four‑fifths of our 2025 funding went directly to them, and we will keep strengthening community leadership in a rapidly shifting funding landscape.
In the years ahead, we will expand coalition‑driven and innovative financing models, ranging from grants to impact investment funds. This will help unlock new opportunities in anticipatory disaster response, ocean and forest conservation, and climate‑smart livelihoods. Our long‑term goal remains to mobilise USD 1 billion in adaptation investment, generating three dollars for every one we contribute.
We will continue backing solutions that deliver measurable resilience for people and ecosystems: nature‑based solutions, community‑led conservation, and climate‑smart food systems. We will also deepen our work where climate and conflict intersect and broaden our focus to include health and water security.
As a learning organisation, we will keep convening partners, encouraging peer exchange, and grounding our strategy in the experience of the communities we support.
Engagement across the Trafigura Group will remain central, with colleagues worldwide strengthening our connection to local communities through volunteering and staff‑driven initiatives. Our vision remains clear: people thriving and communities prospering within healthy, resilient ecosystems. In 2025, we reached more than half a million people. In 2026, we aim to go further and deeper, together with our partners and the Trafigura Group.
Our ambition
Be the leading corporate philanthropy in climate adaptation, contributing to the mobilisation of USD 1 billion in resilience investments while scaling solutions that serve millions of people in low- and middle-income countries.
